P.G.I - Protected Geographical Indication Drama

Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo grapes

Region: Mikrochori Drama

Terroir: Produced by the Italian Nebbiolo variety characterized by high acidity and richness of tannins. The long aging in oak barrels sculpt sharp tannins and helps to create a complex bouquet of aromas.

The Wine Art Estate vineyards at Mikrochori overlook Mount Pangaion, in antiquity home of the cult of Dionysus and the Orphic mysteries.

The vineyards were planted on carefully chosen south-facing slopes, well protected against late frosts. The soil is mainly sandy-clay, suitable for the cultivation of the Greek and foreign varieties planted and ideal for the development of their characteristics.

The French grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, the Italian varieties Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, the Portuguese variety Touriga Nacional and the indigenous varieties Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko, Lemiona are carefully tended, to ensure top quality fruit.

Oenology: Classic red vinification method, the wine ages for 4-5 years in oak barrels. This long barrel maturation, balances the varietal's high tannic potential and enhances the complexity of the wine.

Typical Nebbiolo light red colour, with the characteristic brick-orange hue at the rim of the
glass. Complex bouquet of plums, black olives, cedar and sun-dried tomatoes. Robust and
full-bodied in the mouth, with vigorous tannins and a structural elegance.

Enjoy with strong, flavourful meats (red or white) and aged cheeses.
